Hydrangea
Overview
Popular plant for formal and cottage gardens alike. Herbaceous shrubs produce huge umbrellas of flowers in a variety of colors. Excellent cut flower. Pollinator friendly.

Plants prefer soil that is consistently moist but not saturated. Add mulch to maintain soil moisture, and water frequently but lightly.

Tolerant of most soils but do best in loose, rich soil. pH of soil changes bloom color of several types. pH 6 or less will produce blue flowers, while pH of 7 or higher will produce pink flowers.
