Poinsettia
Overview
Perennial plant that is often grown for the winter season because of its striking red bracts. Potted plants are usually used indoors to decorate for Christmas. Plants can be kept for multiple seasons, but day length requirements make it difficult to get the red coloration in subsequent years without careful attention to light levels.
Water
Plants prefer dry down cycles. Apply water whenever the soil feels dry but do not overly saturated. Make sure decorative pots and pot covers have adequate drainage to prevent roots sitting in standing water.
Light
Bright indoor
Soil
Prefers well drained soil.
