Hibiscus

Overview

Tropical herbaceous plant that is a perennial but grown as an annual in cooler climates. Huge flowers are attractive to pollinators. Lush plants are popular container plants and along borders and walkways.

Water

Tropical plant that requires plenty of moisture. Irrigate frequently in the warm growing season but do not let sit in standing water. Back off of water in the cooler dormant period.

Light

Full sun, but benefits from afternoon shade in drier climates.

Soil

Plants require well drained, soil that still retains moisture and requires a fertile and loamy type.
