Overview

Frost tender perennials that grow from corms. The large-flowered hybrids sold by florists feature sweetly fragrant, funnel-shaped flowers.

Water

Freesias need an abundance of moisture during the entire growing season, but you should allow the soil to dry out once the flowers fade.

Light

Prefers full sun but can tolerate light shade.

Soil

Needs slightly sandy soil that has been amended with moisture retaining organic material.
