Ficus
Overview
Ficus are one of the most popular foliage plants suitable for growing as ornamental houseplants. They include those with a shrubby, weeping, climbing or creeping habit. The attractive foliage can be green, burgundy or variegated, ranging from papery thin to thick and leathery. Some of the most popular ficus houseplants are Ficus Burgundy, Audrey, and Tineke.
Water
Water when the top inch of the soil is dry which will be around every 5-7 days.
Light
All Ficus plants thrive in bright, indirect light indoors. Direct sun will scorch the leaves and leave behind brown spots. Some varieties, namely the Fiddle Leaf Fig or Ficus Lyrata, can tolerate low light.
Soil
Ficus plants need well-draining potting soil and pots with adequate draining holes. Their growing season is spring and summer, so your ficus must have moist soil during the warmer months. The best type of soil for a ficus tree is fertile potting soil with lots of nutrients.
