Cuphea

 

Overview

An herbaceous annual of the loosestrife family that produces narrow-tubular, purple to purplish-red flowers from July to October.

Water

Water once or twice per week, making sure the soil remains consistently moist. Once established, the plant may no longer require frequent watering.

Light

Cuphea loves hot, sunny conditions. Can tolerate a little bit of shade but flowers best in full sun.

Soil

Thrives in compost-rich, well-drained soil.
