Overview

Fast growing edible plant with tender stems and crunchy leaves. Can be eaten raw or cooked. Thrives in cooler weather so best for spring and fall production. Popular addition to veggie gardens because of the variety of beautiful stem colors.

Water

Plants prefer frequent but light irrigation to keep soil moist but never saturated. Using mulch around the plant can help soil retain moisture. Avoid soggy soil.

Soil

Plants prefer rich, loose, well drained soil.
