Pennisetum

Overview

Ornamental bunch grass with finely textured foliage. Produces a whimsical, feather like seed head that will stay on the plant for weeks. Often planted as single bunches in perennial plantings and along walkways, but is also be used in mass plantings.

Water

Plants prefer frequent but light irrigation to keep soil moist but never saturated. Moderately drought tolerant the plants can survive drought, but will not look as attractive.

Full sun.

Soil

Plants prefer rich and well drained soil that does retain some moisture.
