Coleus

Overview

Prized for their colorful foliage, which may combine shades of green, yellow, pink, red, rust

Water

Water twice a day during hot weather. Outdoor containers may require water twice a day. Indoor plants need water only when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch.

Light

Some coleus varieties handle full sun, but most do well with dappled shade and direct sun limited to morning hours. Intense midday sunlight scorches the foliage; too little light causes weak growth

Soil

Prefers consistently moist, rich, well-draining soil. Before planting, amend the soil with compost or another organic material.
