Overview

North American native herbaceous perennial has bright yellow, fragrant flowers that bloom in the late afternoon and evening. It is attractive to nocturnal pollinators, and are a staple of night blooming gardens. Deadhead to prevent self seeding.

Water

Plant produces fleshy underground bulbs and hollow, tubular leaves. All parts of the plants are edible and are popular in many cooking styles, or added raw for more intense flavor.

Plants require well drained soil that is light, loose and loamy or sandy for best quality bulbs.
