Aquilegia

Overview

Perennial plants that are found in meadows, woodlands, and at higher altitudes throughout the Northern Hemisphere, known for the spurred petals of their flowers.

Water

They need moderate soil moisture, so apply water when the top inch or two of soil dries out. As young plants are becoming established, keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy. Established plants only need watering about once a week.

Light

Full sun to partial shade.

Soil

A neutral, moist but well drained soil will do well.
